Wissam Boustany in Concert

Wissam Boustany

Back in 2021, Wissam Boustany gave a pair of concerts that were introduced to our readers here at Flute Journal. The first of these was at the Sands Studio in South East London. A video recording of that concert has become available to Flute Journal and we take great pleasure in presenting it here. Wissam refers to this as “A New Collaboration” with Mali Llewelyn, harpist! He writes “It has been years since I have tasted this delicious musical combination! Join us at the charming Sands Films Studios for this intimate evening.”

Born in Lebanon (he has been awarded a knighthood by the Government of Lebanon), Wissam Boustany moved to England in 1977 where he has risen to prominence as soloist, conductor, composer, educator and humanitarian.

The programme for this performance was as follows:

Mozart – Sonata in G, KV 27
Rameau – 2 Pieces for solo harp
Boustany – Improvisation for solo flute
Rota – Sonata
Ibert – Piece

Here is the recital. We hope you enjoy!
