Up and coming recorder soloist Sophie Westbrooke, following her performance at the BBC Young Musician of the Year finals in 2014, (she came first in the woodwind category) presents recorder repertoire ancient and modern at a Tedx talk in Newcastle, UK
A student of Barbara Law at the Junior Royal Academy of Music, Sophie aims to expand awareness of her instrument through the performance of a wide repertoire of music from the medieval to the modern. She is experimental in interpretation, often using improvisation and different combinations of instruments to accompany her.
