Karen Aoki

Karen Aoki studied flute growing up in her native Japan. She then came to the United States to continue her studies with Bonita Boyd at the Eastman School of Music. Subsequently, however, her interests turned to meditation and she now finds herself a Ph.D. student in Vedic Literature at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa.

She recently gave a talk at a TEDx women’s symposium in Fairfield, where she explained the relationship between music, sound, silence and Vedic literature.
